Stephanie is a litigation partner in the Insurance Defense practice group handling matters in state and federal courts. She attended St. John’s University School of Law and served as an Editor for the St. John’s Journal of Legal Commentary.
Stephanie’s career in litigation and trial practice began at a Plaintiff’s personal injury practice, and then switched to insurance defense representing individuals, commercial property owners, contractors, community homeowners’ associations, public school districts and camps. After decades in negligence litigation, Stephanie worked in disability and special education law, specifically on a grant from the New York State Education Department, affording her with a unique perspective on matters involving education and special needs service settings. Before joining the firm, she worked in education law representing public school districts in a variety of legal matters including general liability, discrimination, tuition reimbursement, personnel matters, and special education. Her experience is varied having litigated matters in Supreme and Appellate Courts, as well as administrative forms (i.e., NYS Education Department, NYS Division of Human Rights, US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission). Here at HOM, Stephanie focuses her practice on premises liability, negligent supervision claims, CVA matters, Labor Law and related contract and coverage issues.
