Practice Areas
Our insurance defense practice extends to every type of property, casualty and commercial coverage matter. We have extensive experience in the following areas:
The Products Liability Group has defended many consumer and industrial products. Our experience includes the defense of traditional design and manufacture defect claims, as well as complex crashworthiness claims. Cases involve consumer products ranging from automobiles, power tools, electronic devices, food products, building products and construction designs. We also defend heavy and light industrial and construction equipment claims, and manufacturers and employers in claims arising from machinery accidents in the field and factories.
We realize that the design defect claims invoke the essence of a manufacturer, and our group’s defense of these claims takes into account the case-specific and global needs of each client. We have regular and direct interaction with our clients’ engineering and quality control departments, in-house attorneys, insurers and claims administrators.
Our clients recognize our thoroughness and litigation expertise by asking us to be involved in early warning and not-in-suit matters. Early investigation uncovers and preserves evidence that leads to successful resolution of these matters.
Representative Matters:
- Represented major construction management firm in multi-million dollar property damage subrogation action brought by Hospital and successfully negotiated reimbursement of fees on behalf of client after case settled for $750,000, with client contributing no money towards settlement
